Bismarck Historical Society is honored to welcome back Winston Satran, author of Tough but Fair: Reformation of a Prison, the Memoir of a Warden. Building on a past program on the history of the North Dakota State Penitentiary, Winston will share his experience turning a 28-year career working with troubled juveniles and convicted felons into a memoir scheduled for release through NDSU Press in 2026.
The program is free and open to the general public.
